  •  “The Stinger Stick" is designed strictly for lawful self-defense purposes. Laws regarding vary widely from state to state—and even between cities or counties. In some places, carrying a sharp or pointed self-defense tool may be restricted or require certain conditions to be met. It’s the responsibility of the user to check and follow their local laws before carrying or using it.


  • The reason that "The Stinger Stick" and similar "pointed kubatons" are generally legal in the US is because of their form.  It is very similar to everyday objects such as a pen, stick, or any number of writing instruments, cooking utensils, or tools.  Therefore, it would be diffecult to prohibit an item that is hard to identify, and has the same potential dangerous use of many other regular objects. 


  • If "The Stinger Stick" is used in an offensive manner and not in self-defense, just like any other objects, it would be classified as a dangerous weapon and the owner could be charged with a crime because of their intent.


  • California, Massachusetts, New York City, DC, New Jersey: Ban or restrict public carry of pointed self-defense tools.
